Swiss Embassy applauds HPSS Project

In order to gain a first-hand appreciation of the positive strides being made by the HPSS project in supporting the Government of Tanzania to develop innovative health solutions and supports their integration into national institutions, systems and policies, the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania organized a technical visit to HPSS project sites in Dodoma, Iringa and Morogoro regions.



The visit took place from 28th March to 1st April, 2022 and the Embassy technical team comprised of Head of Health Domain, Senior Project Officer and Financial Personnel.


While in Dodoma, among other engagements, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Dr Ntuli Kapologwe, Director of Health, Social Welfare and Nutritional Services at the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG).




From Dodoma the delegation proceeded on a field visit to Iringa and Morogoro regions where they toured some of the project sites and held meetings with Regional Health teams that are privy to the project.

The delegation was accompanied by, Manfred Stoermer, HPSS project Director and Ally Kebby, HPSS Project Manager.


Speaking after the visit, Ally Kebby said the delegation was largely impressed with the project’s progress and that there was hope for sustainability of the innovations beyond HPSS project which is set for windup at the end of 2023 after 10 years of implementation.


“The Swiss Embassy team is happy with the delivery of the project so far and hopes that HPSS project will satisfactorily attain its objectives by the time it phases out next year”, he said.


The HPSS project is aimed at ensuring improved access to, utilization and quality of health services in Tanzania.
